Dreaming of Spring

We were enjoying some spring like weather and it was so nice to see the snow melting. However, we have lived in Ontario long enough to know that spring could not be coming this soon already. This morning we were brought back to reality as we woke up to snow again.

Mother Nature's Early Morning Exercise

Mother Nature has been very kind and gracious in allowing us to get some early morning exercise. Although I have done some early morning shoveling Vern is usually the person up and out the door while I enjoy my early morning bike exercise inside. This morning it was a bit chilly out there. I think Zachary will be glad when winter is over and he doesn't have to hear his mom say, "Be careful out there on the roads, it could be slick." Although the snow is beautiful, I really don't mind if we have a GREEN Christmas.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

I was just thinking how we might actually make it through Oct. without any snow. However, this morning when we woke up, it was snowing. It melted pretty much as soon as it touched the ground but nevertheless it was snow. Groan! I am not ready for winter!

Winter Greetings

We enjoyed a nice warm December here in Ontario. People were actually worried that we might not have a winter with snow. (I was of course not one of those people as I can handle a snowless winter.) For the past week we have had quite a bit of snow and very cold temperatures. With Vern being gone it seems like I spend quite a bit of time outside dealing with the snow. Although, we have been very blessed by several people who have come by to shovel snow for us. Besides going to town to run errands or take Ruth to work and back I have not ventured beyond our town of Durham. Since we had spent many winters in Venezuela I don't really enjoy driving in the snow. And although Ruth would love for me to take her out driving again, we are going to wait until the snow settles down a bit. Titus is of course glad for all the snow and can spend hours out playing in it. I however, think Ruth has the right idea that on a snowy evening a cup of hot chocolate is what hits the spot.
