Science Fair

Although my children enjoy science, the thought of doing a "Science Fair Project" does not bring with it a lot of excitement. Every other year the junior high and high school do "Science Fair Projects" and this was the year to do them. Titus did his project over the Christmas break. He grew bean plants and put different amounts of fertilizer in with each bean plant. His friend Jake, did his project on different types of paper airplanes and how far each one flew. The boys put a lot of time into their projects, papers, and board. Vern and I were able to go into their classroom yesterday to see their science boards and to hear them talk about their "Science Fair Projects". Great job Titus and Jake!

SOAK IT UP!!!

Ruth has been working the last couple of months on her science fair project. She put in many long nights working on her paper, board, and power point. First thing this morning she did her oral presentation. She was supposed to give a 5-8 minute presentation that was timed. Points were going to be taken off if she went under the five minutes. Therefore last night she practiced with Titus and then a couple of times with me. Since Vern is gone and Ruth and I don't know how to set everything up to do the power point she made up, we called in Peter Baker for help. And at 7:30 we all met in Ruth's classroom to get things set up. The school doesn't have a lap top for Ruth to load her presentation on. So we used Vern's lap top, but since it is old it was not wanting to boot up for us. It took about ten minutes for us to see signs of life. And we all breathed a sigh of relief to see the computer starting up. Ruth did a GREAT job in her presentation. She was very relaxed and seemed to be having fun up there. WAY TO BE RUTH!

Ruth's Science Fair Project

Ruth has been working on her science fair project testing out how absorbant the different paper towel brands are. It is quite interesting and we are finding out for ourselves what brand is the "Quicker Picker Upper".

What's new with Vern and Holly
