Signs of Life

This first picture is what it looked like right outside our place last week. The next picture is what it looked like this morning. It was pretty quiet up our way as the student apartments were empty but about six days ago our second year students started returning from their summer break. Starting on Monday our new students started to arrive. It is so nice to have our students back and we look forward to getting to know the new ones. Please be praying for the families who are still traveling that they will make it here safely. And also pray for all our students as they settle in and get adjusted to life here. Our classes start on Monday.

Veggie Tales

Yesterday someone from an area church dropped off a bunch of fresh veggies for anyone here on the campus to use. We are enjoying the fresh produce and are thankful for this person who blessed like that.

Checking It Out

On Tuesday we had a group of students from Bible school (the same school Seth and Zachary are attending) come for a visit. They will be leaving tomorrow afternoon. The students have been sitting in on classes and seeing what is involved in our program here. Some of them are seriously interested in being a full time missionary. We were able to have the gang over for supper Tuesday night. One of the guys who came is actually one of Zachary’s room mates. We have enjoyed getting to know them and having them join in our program for a couple of days. Last week we had a different group of Bible school Students from Jackson come and check out our program. It is exciting to see young people wanting to serve the Lord over seas. "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

The Black Hole

Last night Vern and I were invited to the "Black Hole". The 'Black Hole" is the name of Shane and Karen Whatley's coffee house. They are a staff couple that we work with here. Every Tuesday night we have meeting here on the campus. We often will have missionaries home on furlough coming in to share with us. The "Black Hole" is a way that the Whatley's open up their home to several different couples after the meeting to have a time of fellowship. Karen is a professional cappuccino maker. She has all different flavors to put in your cappuccino. It was a fun evening and it was a real treat. Shane and Karen are such a neat couple and we love having them apart of the training staff. They are actually working towards going to Indonesia to work in one of the M.K. schools there. We will sure miss them but we know they will be such a blessing in Indonesia.
