Vern's Birthday

I am posting this for the Dyck family who is waiting for some pictures of our little party. We missed you partying with us. Thanks so much to all our family and friends who called or sent email birthday greetings to Vern. It added to a very special day.

Happy Birthday Vern!

It is time to once again pull out the "YOU ARE SPECIAL TODAY" plate as we celebrate Vern's birthday. Although it is cold outside we plan on having lots of warmth inside as we celebrate as a family tonight enjoying Vern's favorite meal. I only wish all of Vern's siblings and parents could join us as we honor him tonight. Happy Birthday Vern! You are a SPECIAL person, husband, father, and grandfather. I love you and enjoy walking down life's path together with you.

Vern's Birthday Meal

Since I had just made Vern's favorite meal last week we decided to try something new for his birthday meal. Vern loves cheese so we decided to do a cheese fondue meal. We had three different types of vegetables, three different kinds of meat, and then two different types of bread, that we dipped into our cheese fondue. It was nice to try something different. It was good and we all filled up too quickly. Vern received several different phone calls from family members. One phone call was from two of his brother in Australia, so that was sure a treat and made the evening even more special.

45 years ago on a cold winter day in Sask. my hubby entered the world. And now that he is 45 he can officially enter the "midlife crisis stage" with me. I glad to have you join me. (smile) Happy Birthday Vern! We have celebrated 25 birthdays together and I look forward to celebrating many more together. I love you and are glad that a baby from Sask. and a baby from Chicago grew up to have our paths cross and to see how God brought us together. Have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VERN!

Today is my hubby's birthday. In the picture Vern is wearing his birthday gift from Ruth. (Way to be Ruth!) I baked a couple of coffee cakes and brought them down for break this morning. I wanted it to be a surprise but I was a little behind schedule so it didn't really work out to be a surprise, but it was nice anyway. It is a busy day today with a potluck tonight so we are going to have Vern's birthday meal tomorrow.
