Celebrating Mother's Day

Yesterday I enjoyed a nice day with the family. It was nice being able to celebrate with Kristina as it was her first Mother's Day as a mommy. The kids worked on a wonderful lupper for us. Ruth, Zachary, & Seth gave me a special gift. They gave me a basket for the soon to be "Mother of College Students". It was a tear jerker. The first item I picked up and read was the box of Kleenix and it said, "It's okay to cry, we know you will miss us". So I pretty much lost it right there. I will let you read what they put on all the sticky notes. (If you want to read the notes better, just click on each picture.) It was very special for them to put the time and creativity into my gift. I will apprecaite all the gifts, although the Kleenix will be half way used up during graduation so I will need to get another couple of boxes for the fall. I am REALLY going to enjoy the web cam as I was wanting one for when they are away at university.Maybe the kids won't seem so far away when I am able to see them with the web cam.

To The Mother of My Children

Mother's Day! Overrated?? I don't think so!! I normally don't do this blogging thing but on such occasions as this, I am totally willing to move out of my comfort zone. I will get out of the hammock, put the sausage and stinky fish and vinegar to one side, put out the smoke in the smoke house, negate the urge for radishes and vinegar, let the dust settle on the golf clubs, turn a blind eye on the dirt on the vehicles, and allow the sunny Sunday of motorbike cruzin to be postponed for this important event. Mother's Day is important... well, important sounds too official. Perhaps I should say that Mother's Day is one of those days that should be celebrated in ways that surpass all other celebrations. Mother's invest and influence future generations like no other and I, Vernon W. Dyck salute you. Well, I salute, in this case, my wife, who has been the mother to our five children and who has done an amazing job at raising them, nurturing them and loving them. This blog is not the forum to communicate the many sacrifices that have been made on her part but I do want to say thank you. Thanks Holly for being a wonderful mother to our children. The supper, the flowers, the card, the decorations are but a very small token of our(hubby and children) appreciation of all that you have done for us. We love you!!

Happy Mother's Day!

We have three Mothers who are amazing ladies. They have been there for us throughout our lives loving us, supporting us, praying for us, and encouraging us. We won't be spending the day with any of them but we are sure thinking of them. Thanks so much to our incredible Mother's. We Love You!

Belated Mother's Day Breakfast

I was not here last Sunday for Mother's Day so Ruth and Vern planned a Mother's Day breakfast for me this morning. Zachary and I got home at around nine last night and we were pretty beat. It was such a nice surprise to wake up this morning to a hot delicious breakfast. Vern made crepes with blueberries, strawberries, and whipped cream. Ruth made some home made blueberry muffins (I love blueberries!) and sausages. It was so nice of them to surprise me with this special belated breakfast.

What's new with Vern and Holly
