Well, it was actually bring a "Stuffed Animal Night" at Cubbies last night. However, you could tell that some of the stuffed animals were dear companions of the Cubbies. As the beginning of club I let each Cubbie introduce their stuffed animal and tell us a little bit about them. Then through out the night I tried to do as much as possible with our furry friends like: sing some songs as the stuffed animals did the actions, recite verses with them, and play games that included their stuffed animal. I think the Cubbies enjoyed bringing their favorite stuffed animal and it was a nice "special event night" to do in the middle of winter.
Tonight at Cubbies we had "Inside Out Night". I don't think I have ever worn jeans inside out before. It isn't the most comfortable but it was better then wearing them backwards. I think Ruth had the right idea with wearing sweats .
Tonight was our last night of Cubbies for the year. We invited the parents for a program in which each group presented some thing. Then each child who finished a book was given their award. The Cubbies sang a couple of songs and said several of their memory verses. I must say the Cubbies were nice and enthusiastic as we sang our songs. (Good job!) Our church did some thing really special for all the Cubbies who were graduating into the next program. Each child graduating received a Lamb book which also comes with a CD of the story being read. So the Cubbies will be able to hear the gospel message over and over again. It was a good year and we saw many of the children grow and mature. We also saw their understanding for God increase. It really was a privilege to be a part of their lives each week. I had some great leaders working with me who did an tremendous job.
In a few minutes we will be leaving for Awana. We only have two club nights left for the year. I would appreciate your prayers as I have only two Bible lessons left with our Cubbies. I am using "The Lamb" book which explains the gospel in a beautiful way for young children to understand. These last two weeks I will be recapping every thing we have learned and presenting the gospel to them. Pray for these little ones that they will understand this precious message. Some of the children are understanding but some have lots of questions yet.
