Go Blue Team!

For the past three weeks the 3rd-8th graders have been playing a soccer tournament. Titus was on the blue team. Today was the last games of the tournament. All the players went away with a can or bottle of pop depending on whether their team got first, second, or third place. Titus' team came in first place so he came won a big bottle of pop. Each team did an awesome job. It was good to see how the kids worked together as a team and showed good sportsmanlike conduct. Way to go kids!

Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

Today and a couple of days last week I have been subbing in the 5th & 6th grade classroom at the academy here on the campus. The 5th and 6th grade teacher went to be with her mother for a couple weeks as her mother is very ill. It has been good to connect with these children and all that they are learning. There is a show on T.V. called “Are you smarter than a 5th Grader?” So I thought I would let you try and see how you do.

In 5th Grade English – Name three Indefinite Pronouns.

In 5th Grade Vocabulary – What is the definition of the word “epochal”?

In 5th Grade Math – If a farmer had a field that was 208ft. by 222 ft., would he have more or less then an acre? (How many square feet are in an acre?)

How did you do? Are you smarter then a 5th grader?

Back to School

The last couple of days I had the privilege to fill in for the first and second grade teacher who is away. I home schooled our children for many years. Although, it was a lot of work I did enjoy "doing school" with our kids. The children in the first and second grade are such great kids. And it was fun to spend a couple of days "doing school" with them. They all get along so well and they all enjoy learning. Their parents are doing a great job parenting!
