Day of Prayer

Today we had our November "Day of Prayer". We once again took the morning to learn more about a couple of the countries that New Tribes Mission works in and to pray for prayer requests from around the world. The two presentations were on the countries of Paraguay and Greenland. (During our break we sampled food from the two countries. Yum!) Paraguay is wanting to open up some new works but more laborers are needed. We learned that Greenlandic is one of the hardest languages to learn. The missionaries have had a discouraging time as they have seen very little fruit. If you have a minute please pray for these countries and the missionaries serving in them.

Day of Prayer

Yesterday was a day we call "Day of Prayer". Once a month we set aside a day in which we pray for all the countries that the Mission works with. We also hear a couple of field reports on what God is doing in different countries. Yesterday morning we heard a report on the country of Mozambique and then one on the Philippines. The two groups that worked on the reports did a good job giving us an over view on the country they were presenting and also on the needs in that country.

Fiesta de Jubilacion

Yesterday was another Day of Prayer. Kimbra, Ang, and Liz made a nice presentation on the country of Panama. Due to the fact that Panama is a field where a lot of the works are finished and the missionaries are leaving, we had a Fiesta de Jubilcaion. It is very cool to see how the tribal churches are able to take the reins and give the guidance and direction that the churches need from leadership within the church. Although, not all works are complete there was a lot to celebrate. The ladies put together a power point presentation. The class was also divided up into two teams and we played a game while we learned interesting facts about the country. The second half of the morning we broke up into two groups and had a time of prayer for many of the countries that New Tribes Mission works in. It is a privilege to set this time aside and pray for all that God is doing through New Tribes Mission.

Day of Prayer

Once a month on a Monday we have what we call "A Day of Prayer". We take the class time to prayer for all the different countries that New Tribes Mission works in. At the beginning of the year our students are broken up into groups of two. Each group then picks one of the countries that New Tribes Mission works in, and does a fairly indepth report. So each Day of Prayer we have two presentations made during the first two hours of class. Today our first presentation was done by Ryan and Greg who showed us the work in Cambodia. They did a very good job showing us many things about the country. It is a field that just opened up a few years ago and there are all sorts of need for more personnel.

The second presentation was on Paraguay, done by Amberlynne and Erika. They also put together a nice presentation on the country. They had a table of artifacts for us to go and look at. We were served beans and rice along with some corn bread. (Yum, Yum!) Paraguay is field that has been open for quite awhile and yet there are many needs for laborers. New Tribes Mission of Paraguay would like to open up about eight new works. We broke up into groups to pray for some prayer requests in Paraguay.

The second half of the morning our students are broken into groups and go to a staff couples' home. Each student has gone through prayer letters from one of the countries that New Tribes Mission works in. Prayer requests from each field are then prayed for. It was once again exciting to see what God is doing on the mission field and to be more aware of the needs.
